Our People

Colin Wetherley-Mein

The Club Chairman is Colin Wetherley-Mein.  Colin has a been a member of Lilleshall for over twenty five years in various capacities and Chair for the last ten.  Colin is also the Club Welfare Officer and has been instrumental in the achievement of Clubmark and the recent three year re-accreditation; he is also a qualified umpire and officiates at senior matches.  In 2010, Colin was was presented with the League and Board’s Award for Outstanding Services to Cricket in Shropshire.

Peter Maltby

Pete is the senior coach and first joined the club as a 16 year old back in 1978.  Playing for the under 19s at first, he was a regular bowler in the second eleven just two years later.  Pete started coaching in the mid 1980s and by this time he was a first eleven regular, going on to captain the side in the mid 1990s.  Pete still plays competitively for Lilleshall and has been largely responsible for overseeing the development of the thriving junior section that Lilleshall has today. In 2009 he was recognised for his services to coaching with the award of Shropshire Cricket OSCA and a Sky Sports Coaching award.  Pete is the lead coach for bowling.

John Witty

John has a long association with the club and is also a level 2 coach.  John is the Club Cricket Manager, an important role that acts as a sounding board for anyone in the club that wishes to raise a cricket related issue; it also strengthens further the bridge between the junior and senior sections of the club.  John leads the u13 coaching and his intelligent mix of drills and short games that focus on technique and agility are instrumental in challenging and developing young players to become competent cricketers. John was also recognised by the ECB through the national Sky Coaching Awards in 2009 and also received an Outstanding Contribution and Services to Cricket Coaching Award (OSCA) in 2009.

Greg Munslow

Greg is the Head Groundsman and regular member of the senior squad.  Greg’s dedication to providing the finest surface possible on which to play cricket is admirable – which he achieves with considerable financial restraint.  Known locally as the Big Man, when you meet him you’ll know why!

Ed Keenan

Ed is the First XI Skipper who is looking forward to his first season in charge.  Ed is a prolific batsman and is keen to see Lilleshall to make a positive start in the new league structure.

Richard Harris

Richard takes over from Ed Seabury as Second XI Skipper.  Richard is an excellent all-rounder, extremely enthusiastic and a very good coach.

Richard Todd

Richard is another of our senior Level 2 coaches and leads the u15 squad and is also the current Third XI Skipper.  Richard is the lead coach for fielding.

Will Askin

Will is the Sunday XI Skipper, Will enjoyed success as First Xi Skipper, taking Lilleshall to the final of the FBC Manby Bowdler Cup Knockout, where they were runners up to Wrexham.  Will is a great supporter of junior cricket and is committed to the development of young talent in the club.

Andrew Ball

Andrew manages the club’s online presence which includes this website, our match reports blog and the junior handbook. So if you find anything on those sites that you don’t like or something that doesn’t work properly – it’s his fault!

We also have a number of ECB qualified coaches and parent helpers who assist with coaching.
